Import Export Code (IEC) is a10-digit number issued by the regional office of the Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), department of commerce, Government of India to any importer or exporter to commence business. IEC is required for all imports and exports in the country, other than the export or import of specifically mentioned technology or services. The ICE code obtained by an importer or exporter is valid for all his branches or factories across the country.
